The creation of VDL Bus Group brings together the expertise of VDL Bus & Coach and VDL Van Hool into one powerful organisation with two complementary brands, VDL and Van Hool, each with its own identity and market focus.
Production is geographically organised by vehicle type and make:
- VDL Citea for public transport, built in the new energy-efficient factory in Roeselare, Belgium.
- VDL Futura 3 coaches, produced in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands, continuing VDL’s heritage in high-quality coachbuilding.
- Van Hool coaches, produced in Macedonia, combining efficiency, craftsmanship and scale.
At Busworld 2025, VDL Bus Group showcased five vehicles: two VDL Futura 3 coaches, a VDL Citea 13.5-metre Low Entry bus, and two Van Hool models, the Astron super high-decker and the Astromega double-decker. Together, they illustrate the breadth of innovation and customer focus within the new organisation.
