Kind + Jugend 2025 Highlights: MODYN Trend Report

Kind + Jugend 2025 once again gathered the global baby and toddler industry in Cologne, providing a platform for brands, retailers, and professionals to exchange ideas and present their latest developments. As in previous years, MODYN attended with a focus on the mobility sector, including strollers, bike seats, and related categories, to gain insights into the state of the market. This year’s edition, however, showed a noticeable shift in emphasis.

Modularity & Adaptability

Several major brands chose not to exhibit or participated primarily to maintain connections, resulting in fewer large-scale product launches on the show floor. Within mobility, the level of visible innovation appeared more incremental than disruptive, with fewer standout concepts compared to earlier years.
Sustainability, once a headline topic, has now become more of an underlying standard. Instead of being spotlighted as a trend, it is increasingly integrated into materials and processes as a given expectation.

Even so, the fair continues to serve as a valuable indicator of industry directions and priorities.
In this report, we share our key observations, highlighting the noteworthy trends and product ideas that emerged from Kind + Jugend 2025.

At this year’s fair we noticed a growing presence of modular furniture, designed to adapt as a child grows, especially within the products nominated for the innovation awards.

In addition to modular concepts, we also saw a number of multifunctional products.
