IAA Mobility 2025 - Turning Point for the Industry
IAA Mobility Munich confirmed it: the mobility industry is at a decisive turning point. Cars are no longer just machines of motion; they’re becoming software platforms, digital ecosystems, and emotional experiences.
Electrification has moved from ambition to assumption, and design is being re-energized with new freedom and intent. Yet amid all the innovation, one thing stood out: mobility beyond the car remains underrepresented.
Electric vehicles have now become the default expression of progress. The show floor was filled with battery-powered models from every major brand while combustion and hydrogen concepts faded quietly into the background. The EV shift is also reshaping aesthetics: sharper proportions and daring surfaces. The mood is unmistakable: electric can be thrilling.
But the real revolution lies in software and intelligence. The rise of the software-defined vehicle (SDV) has turned code into a brand asset as vital as form or colour. AI-driven assistants, adaptive UX, and generative design are transforming not just how cars perform, but how they are conceived and built. Technology now shapes identity and increasingly, emotion.
